Fruitbowls

Since my kitchen is getting redone – new colour, new table and new chairs, I thought it would be nice to get a new fruitbowl that matches it all. So I’ve done a little research and found a couple I like, I’ve found it all on Casanova Furniture and the dishtowel is from H&M home collection, I just thought it was so appropriate for the kitchen – because I will always choose to do it later if I can :)

I have two favorites, the Spazio bowl and the Seam bowl – they are  both really beautiful, and yet so simpel. The details on the seam bowl is beautiful. I’d love to fill either of them up with all sorts of colourful fruit :)

I added the hookbook in because I thought it was a great idea – and it looks stunning. I’d love to have one for myself and my boyfriend in the bathroom, there’s space for the soap we each use every day, toothbrush etc. Just the things we need close at hand. It would also work in the hall, the space above the hook could hold keys, change, buspass etc. So versatile – and so beautiful!

Zipper cups

I just spotted these on the Design*Sponge blog – and I fell in love…. how cute, AND practical (the best combination) are these little cups – and perfect for a steaming hot cup of tea on a snowy day (like today) :)

I love to get my hands on a couple of these. check out the website here:

Kähler

I am a sucker for beautiful ceramic objects – bowls, vases, plates – you name it! And the danish company Kähler makes just that – so I was very excited when I found out that they have opened a flagstore in Århus, which is very close to where I live.

I can’t wait to go check out the store – and the selection. For now I have to be patient though, but one can dream – therefore I’d like to share this little collage of some of their products with you – enjoy (you can find many more on their website):

Birthday

Today I’m a year older than yesterday, that, of course, means loads of presents, cake and family-quality-time and I am lucky enough to have had it all :) My wonderful sister gave me a hanging pot – the plant pot by Patrick Morris, and I am so excited… I can’t wait to get a flower in at and hang it up. My plan is to get another one slightly bigger and have both of them in the kitchen (when it’s done) with either herbs of maybe orchids. I can’t wait :) I will post some pictures when I have tried it out!

Cycling in style

I cycle quite a lot – mostly because I don’t really have regular acces to a car. Designboom’s latest newsletter was a cycle edition – and there’s a lot of funky design’s out there. Have a look at their website – there’s a lot of inspiration to be found.

I especially like this one designed by Wytze van Mansum, i’d love to use this one every day to school or work:

Inspiration

I have not been good at posting on the blog lately, but January is exam time when you attend a Danish university (probably any university outside Denmark too). Anyway my sister thought I might need some inspiration, so she sent me a couple of links that I’d like to share with the rest of you as well :)

First one is from Egg Collective. Definitely a website I will visit again, the girls have got great ideas – I really like these stump lights, in a group with 3 or 4 stumps they would brighten up any old, boring corner in the house:

Next one is from Bonbon Trading. This sofa might be useful for the small holiday house, or even for the space deprived student:

This one I’m not quite sure about… it looks really pretty, but I am not too sure about functionality. It’s found on Gizmodo:

Last one is an alternative to the usual high chair, from Brothermax:

Ice problems

I am not referring to the masses of snow and ice we have in Denmark just now – no I am refering to that ever recurring problem of ice falling out of a jug and into the glass – leaving a circle of splattered water, lemonade, icetea… you name it, all over your table.

Well today I came across this design by Rostislav Materka on Designboom’s website. The elegant design will look beautiful on the table, and it’ll will stop your drink splattering all over your clean tablecloth.
